Welcome to Garden Snaps -

Homer!  Fairbanks!  Anchorage!  Mat-Su!
No matter where you live there is plenty to do these coming weeks with events across the state.   Visit the Calendar of Events page for details on these events.  This weekend features the Hidden Valley Garden Tour in the Big Lake area!

Gardening in Alaska presents us with many challenges no matter what part of the state you happen to live in.  Those long, unpredictable winters can oftentimes be the greatest obstacle, which doesn't seem fair when we're not even outside gardening at all!

flower image Where to find that nursery you've heard about: maps of individual areas from Fairbanks to Homer are online, interactive and available for download.   All of the Maps feature locations and listings for greenhouses/nurseries, garden centers, farmers' markets and other garden related services and suppliers.

We're also on Facebook!  Join us for weekly alerts on weekend events coming up so you don't miss that plant sale or class you're been waiting for.....

Another great reference is the UAF Cooperative Extension Service.  They have offices across the state and offer information, help, classes and a wealth of expertise to aid all levels of gardeners from brown thumb to the greenest thumb in all areas of horiculture.
