Alaska Master Gardener Conference - "Back to our Roots"
Hosted by the Mat-Su Master Gardeners, there will be 2 full days of gardening classes.  The keynote speaker is Marianne Krasny of Cornell University speaking on community gardening, urban restoration, community forestry and other topics to get "back to our roots".  Lunch and snacks are included with your registration.

"Composting with Worms"
Naturalist ute Olsson will give pointers for getting started on making your own worm bin for composting kitchen scraps.  Bring a container if you would like some starter red wriggler worms.  Free program, $5 parking for non-members.

Wildflower Garden Club Meeting - "Pruning Apple Trees"
Dan Elliott (All About Apples) has been successfully growing apples in the Mat-Su Valley for many years.  He will be discussing the Do's and Don'ts of pruning apple trees.

Organic Gardening
This is a one credit course offered through Mat-Su College, taught by Ellen Vande Visse of Good Earth Garden School.  Students should be prepared to purchase approximately $15 worth of gardening supplies.  Introduces organic methods and materials for ecological agriculture covering soil management, crop rotations, weed control, pest management, garden planning, planting, harvesting, storage and more.  Registration required, contact the Mat-Su College for registration details.

Alaska Botanical Garden Spring Garden Conference - "Biodiversity in the Backyard"
